Gel Manicure - Take 2

So I decided to try the gel manicure again but this time I went to a local spot called Popular Nails II, Inc on Linden Blvd. in Queens, NY.

Let me start by saying that this was by far the WORST manicure I've ever had in my life! It's sad when the customer has to tell the manicurist to clean their cuticles. And it's even worse when the manicurist tells the customer "You don't have cuticles."

Yolanda started by soaking off my nail polish (the gel manicure requires soaking in nail polish remover for 5 - 10 mins to remove the old polish). This wasn't your typical soaking off. She put nail polish remover on a cotton ball, put the cotton ball on my finger nails and then wrapped my nails with aluminum foil. Yes you heard me, plain ole aluminum foil that you find in ya momma's kitchen. So I had to sit around for 10 mins looking like an amputated Edward Scissorhand.

Then RIGHT AWAY after removing the foil she put on the base coat and told me to stick my hands in the UV nail dryer.
Not once did she reach for the nail clipper, cuticle clippers, etc.
I purposely waited for her to start polishing my nails to point that out to her. She sucked her teeth and proceeded to do a BS job of clipping my cuticles WHILE MY NAILS WERE ALREADY POLISHED!

I also had to listen to her entire cellphone conversation. Apparently her life was soo interesting everyone in the salon HAD TO HEAR IT! Yes ladies and gentlemen, she had it on SPEAKERPHONE!

Overall opinion:
The sign should say "$19 for gel polish" instead of "$19 for gel manicure" because what I received WAS NOT A MANICURE.

And to make matters worse, the polish job she did was horrible. My little cousin could've done a better job and it would've been FREE!

NEVER AGAIN WILL I PATRONIZE POPULAR NAIL II, INC!!!!
